Discover the dreamy day with Alison and Joshua’s 700+ person ceremony, and stunning Opera House + Botanic Garden photos.
This was truly a one-of-a-kind wedding. In my entire life, I’ve never been to such a packed wedding ceremony with 700+ people at All Saints Woollahra.
Ally and Josh are both huge on the people in their lives (evidently), and really wanted to spend quality time with their family and friends.
You could tell this right from the start of the day because when I arrived at Ally’s house for getting ready, she had something like 12 mattresses laid down on the floor from her girl's sleepover.
The ceremony felt so alive because it was completely packed. I could really tell that the wedding felt more about the people in Ally and Josh’s lives than it was about themselves.
Even though they were a little behind schedule after the ceremony, they still chose to spend time chatting to the many people in their lives, rather than rushing off for photos.
Despite being a bit behind schedule, they still got quality time with family and friends + stunning photos. How? Efficiently smashing out the bridal party photoshoots while getting plenty of photos and making sure they could still arrive at reception on time. But we had a problem…
It was raining cats and dogs on the drive to the Opera House. Thankfully, Josh was probably the most unfazed person about it - but praise God for the good weather because it cleared up by the time we arrived.
Even better, we got these dark clouds in the sky all while the sun was shining down on the bridal party. The result was a rare combination of lighting/sky that gave an extra cinematic touch to the Opera House photos which looked PRICELESS.
Overall, it was a wonderful day photographing Ally and Josh’s wedding and I had the absolute privilege to be a part of it.
Really Kind Words
I think my overall thoughts about David's photography at our wedding was the professionalism and the creativity. There were certain techniques he used and ideas he had which captured photos that we otherwise wouldn't have gotten.
